As soon as your business provides information to the Queensland Government it can be applied for under the RTI Act or IP Act. This is because Queensland’s information access system applies to information that is in the possession or control of the government.
I believe in and support the release of government held information to the public and I recognise that most companies are happy to release information, promoting their transparency and accountability.
However, there is a legitimate public interest in companies being able to protect commercially sensitive information and the legislation recognises this. I can ensure the legislation is applied appropriately by the government to your company’s information and commercially sensitive material is kept confidential as envisioned by the Act.
